About this experience

This class is three sessions long. Please ensure you are available for each session before booking your spot. See cancellation policy below. 

Bought a wheel but not sure where to start? No worries! Kristie will show you the ins and outs and get your wheel humming along creating gorgeous yarn.

In this class you will learn:

  • mechanics of YOUR wheel
  • drafting wool
  • spinning singles
  • the basics of plying

By class completion, you will have yarn that you created!!!

This class includes 4 oz. of wool fiber to be spun. You are also welcome to bring your own fiber.

NOTE: Your wheel must be operational. If you are unsure about your wheel's operation, please contact the shop to discuss.

Class Policies

The schedule presented is the available time for the instructor. If you are unable to attend a class session, a 1:1 lesson can be scheduled at an additional cost.

Refunds for cancellations will be available with a $25 administration fee. Yarncom must be notified a minimum of 24 hours before the first session begins if you will not be attending. Refunds will not be available for cancellations within 24 hours of the first session. You may reschedule your class up to 24 hours before the first session if the class is offered at another time. Exceptions at management discretion.

Kristie Holden is the tall girl that you see at the shop on Wednesdays and Thursdays. She's a retired military wife, mother, mother in law, and avid crafter. She has been around fiber arts her whole life. Her grandmother taught her basic crochet when she was a little girl. She has been knitting in the St Louis fiber community for 15 years. She took up spinning during the pandemic. She is self taught and immersed herself in all the different styles of wheels and spinning techniques from drop spindles, to antique wheels, traditional wheels, and e-spinners. When she's not knitting or spinning, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She love all things natural for health and wellness, and enjoying the outdoors.
