This class is six sessions long. Please ensure you are available for each session before booking your spot. See cancellation policy below.

Join Ann and learn to knit a classic raglan design sweater. It could be your first sweater, or your first sweater that fits!
In this class you'll learn: yarn substitution; sweater measurements and fit; increases and decreases; cast-ons and neckline placement; binding off neatly; sweater finishing; helical knitting; and lots more.

Class will start off with a Fit Clinic where you will discuss measurements, fit, and yarn choices. This will give you a good understanding of what you will be making and how to utilize simple adjustments to knit a sweater that fits YOU!

You will also be picking out your yarn during this clinic, so no need to figure it out ahead of time. You will have plenty of time for browsing and purchasing during the clinic. If you already have a yarn you'd really like to use that is appropriate for the cozy classic raglan, you may bring it with you.

You will knit your sweater over the following 5 class sessions with help from Ann along the way!

Homework

  • Come to the first class ready to talk yarn, color, size, and fit (it's 3 hours for a reason).
  • Wear a close fitting t-shirt so we can measure your torso; if you like, measure a sweater that fits you the way you like sweaters to fit by taking the measurement across the front of the sweater at the armpits.
  • Bring size US 6 and US 7 circular needles for working a swatch.
  • Bring Notebook and Pen

Supplies Needed

  • Cozy Classic Raglan Pattern by Jessie Maed Designs. NOTE: If you purchase your yarn at Yarncom, you will receive the pattern for free at that time. If you'd like to use stash yarn, you will need to purchase the pattern.
  • Appropriate Yarn. There are many options for this pattern. We will discuss choosing your yarn during the Fit Clinic, so it is preferred that you do not purchase yarn ahead of time.
    • If you have yarn at home in quantities required, bring one skein of each yarn that you are interested in using.
  • Circular Needles recommended for pattern (Needle sizes may vary depending on your gauge swatch).
  • Appropriate stitch markers
  • Darning needle

Supplies purchased at Yarncom for this class will receive a 10% discount. *some exclusions apply
